THE STORY OF DEER MOUNTAIN The name Deer Mountain comes from the our Swiss ancestors, as our family name means “Deer Mountaineer.” But it also reveals a deeper, more transcendent meaning. There is a passage in scripture that describes how people of faith will be able to run like deer across difficult terrain. Deer climb steep, sheer faces of mountains by placing their back feet in the holds where their front feet have just leaped from…in other words, they will climb by faith, trusting that their feet will find their holds. They will climb their way…when there is no way. And God will help them. This company was founded on that faith. That God is a miracle worker, that he invades our time and space with his love, and his truth can transform us and give us strength, hope, and purpose. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see. – Hebrews 11:1
